Also. Drivers who operate vehicles that require a CDL, and are not otherwise exempted are subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing.
WHY DO I NEED THIS TEST
If you are a DOT (FMCSA) covered employee the following conditions require an FMCSA pre-employment drug test
- The driver is new to the transportation industry.
- The driver is changing employers
- More than 30 days has passed since the driver participated in a random drug and alcohol testing program
- The driver has been enrolled in a random program less than 12 months and has not tested within the past six months
