Frequently Asked Questions about Drug Testing

Begin by selecting your test and reviewing the product page. When you’re ready to proceed, fill in your details and enter the zip code where you want to be tested. After you’ve placed your order, you’ll receive a lab registration number and barcoded authorization via email and text. This authorization form will contain the name, address, phone number, and clinic hours. No appointment is needed. Upon arrival, present your email or text authorization from your phone and proceed with your test. The confidential results will be sent to your registered email once the lab has completed the analysis, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free experience.

Standard Urine Testing – Most results (90%) are provided within 1-2 business days after the lab receives the specimen. The remaining 10% may take a few days longer due to shipping or lab delays. If a specimen needs confirmation testing, it will typically add 1 business day. Positive tests will always take longer, with an average turnaround of 3-5 business days.

Instant Urine Testing – If you’re in a hurry and need fast results, instant or rapid urine testing may be the solution. Instant testing can provide negative results on the same day, and in many cases, results can be provided within an hour. Keep in mind that this only applies to negative results. If your specimen is non-negative, the results can take 3-5 business days.

Hair Testing – A standard 5-panel hair test typically takes 2-3 business days after the lab receives the specimen for negative results and 3-5 business days for positive results.

Oral Fluid Testing – Instant on-site drug testing kits and devices can provide results in just a few minutes, while results for specimens analyzed by a lab are generally available within 1–3 days. Depending on the provider, non-negative screens may undergo lab-based confirmation testing and a review process that requires 2–3 additional days.

No, the laboratory will contact you to verify prescriptions if necessary. The Medical Review Officer’s (MRO) job is to determine whether there is a legitimate reason for an otherwise banned substance to be detected. They are required by law to make a reasonable effort to contact you. This is the time to inform them of all medications taken and provide them with the prescription information. The MRO is required by law to confirm the prescription is valid.

On average, drugs can be detected in the hair, urine, and saliva as follows.

Hair: Up to 90 days, contingent on hair length. Hair drug testing provides the broadest window for detecting substance use and provides a detailed history of consumption.

Urine: The Detection Period varies from 3 days to 60 days, depending on the specific drug in question. Given its balance between detection range and reliability, urine testing remains a favored drug testing method.

Oral Fluid (Saliva) Test: Detection Period: Up to 48 hours following use. This offers the shortest detection span, which is ideal for identifying recent substance use. It’s also convenient, noninvasive, and quick.

Keep in mind these are average detection times. The time it takes for the body to process substances depends on the specific drug and individual factors like liver and kidney function and overall health.

No. When you order and pay for your test online, that will be your final cost. The price you see on our website is the final price you pay. No hidden fees.

Yes.  Menstrual blood and urine come from different parts of the body, so menstruation should not affect the results of a urine test. Urine tests look for specific compounds in the urine, such as drugs or metabolites. Urine tests do not screen for these compounds in the blood.
